For several decades, the Washington, D.C. Chapter of THE MOLES has demonstrated its commitment to educational excellence by providing scholarships to deserving students. When we first established the program, we awarded scholarships to graduates of Washington, D.C. high schools who planned to attend D.C. Teachers College, Federal City College, and later the University of the District of Columbia.

As both the Chapter and the region it serves evolved, so to and the bright future we strive to help create—one scholar at a time.o did the scholarship program. Today, eligibility has expanded to include graduating high school seniors throughout the Washington metropolitan area—including the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV)—who plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university. This broader geographic focus reflects the residency of our Chapter members and our commitment to supporting outstanding students across the region.

The Washington, D.C. Chapter of THE MOLES is deeply committed to building brighter futures by investing in the education, leadership development, and long-term success of our youth. Through our scholarship initiatives, we seek to empower deserving students, ease the financial burden of higher education, and encourage them to pursue their academic and professional aspirations with excellence, purpose, and integrity.

Our scholarship program includes the Washington, D.C. Chapter Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to local students throughout their four years of undergraduate study, provided they maintain the required grade point average and continue to meet program requirements. In addition, the Chapter identifies and recommends exceptional students for consideration for two of THE MOLES' most prestigious national awards: the National Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship and the National Celestyne Diggs Porter Scholarship, each of which awards $20,000 to a student selected through a highly competitive national process. The Washington, D.C. Chapter Scholarship Committee administers the Chapter's scholarship program and recommends qualified applicants to the National Scholarship Committee for consideration.
