Founders Day 2026 included a church service at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, DC on April 16, 2026. The Washington DC Chapter of THE MOLES ALSO held a historical narration reflecting its Founders in 1928. A brief description follows:

“In 1928, in a time when opportunities for African-American women were limited…there emerged a group of women who quietly defied expectations. The founders:

  • They were educated

  • They were poised

  • They were purposeful

Women engaged in the field of education—teachers, mentors, and leaders and committed to shaping not only minds, but their communities

By day, they stood in classrooms
By night, they gathered in fellowship

What began as laughter and friendship…
soon revealed something deeper

A desire to connect, A desire to uplift, A desire to serve

Although history may not hold every detail of their personal journeys, we know this:

They were women of vision
Women of intention
Women who understood that joy and purpose could exist together.
